Congratulations! Your teen is ready to begin driver education. It's true - the day you've always dreaded, avoided, or placed in back of your mind is here. So now what?  As a parent or legal guardian, your first step in the driver education process is choosing the right school to instruct your student.

All About Driving has been serving Oakland county since 2004. We are certified by the Michigan Department of State.   Our goal is to provide the best possible instruction focused on safely and defensive driving in a friendly, fun environment where are students can enjoy learning.

Classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction is offered for teens after school, in the evening, and on the weekend.  Flexible hours. Teens and adults are evaluated after each driving lesson.

Most teens view a driver license as a “rite of passage” to adulthood and freedom, and eagerly await the time when they can legally drive. At fourteen-years-eight-months a teen can enroll in Driver Ed and hit the road with a licensed instructor. The course teaches novice drivers updated laws plus how to handle those really sticky situations.  There are so many Driver Ed schools out there, who's to say which one is right for your teen?  Working at Driver Ed schools I've seen and heard of some scary things instructors do or let happen. Some good advice for parents is to read the instructors body language and encourage a lot of communication between you and your child to ensure that they are getting the most for their experience and you are getting the most for your money.

Don't forget, parents, the better the instructor the more relaxed you'll feel during the fifty hours of experience you have to provide with your child during level one licensing.

Our Instructors are certified by the Michigan Department of State. Each instructor has successfully completed the driver education instruction classes required by the State of Michigan.

Teen and adult students will be taught by instructors who are knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated towards making driving a positive experience. In the classroom, instructors will teach students basic and defensive driving skills, laws, road knowledge, rules and the highway transportation system, right of way rules, safe driving attitudes and behaviors . On the road, instructors will give individual attention to each student's strengths and weaknesses when teaching behind-the-wheel lessons. After every hour of driving, they will evaluate each student on performance and awareness skills. Our driver's education vehicles are equipped with dual brakes; student driver and instructor will each have their own pedal brake.

Michele Montagano "Mr. M."
Owner/Instructor

Mr. M. has put in several years to achieve his level of driving proficiency. In 1997, he earned his Degree to teach driver's education from Central Michigan University. He later attended Stunt Driving School. He wanted to earn that license to learn what a car will do in an unexpected circumstance.

Mr. M. doesn't rely on straight-from-the-book lecturing or instructional films that students can doze off watching. His students interact with their lessons, with hands-on exercises that keep them interested and entertained all while learning the vital rules they need before they drive.

Mr. M. understands the pressure that comes with learning to drive, and knows that mistakes will be made along the way during the learning process. He understands that paying attention behind the wheel is a huge part of learning to drive, and many students may have developed bad habits which may need to be un-learned. Bad behaviors can be learned from adult drivers. "We have to correct adults to train teens."
